Expert Interview: Mobile BankingNOTE: This article is more than one year old, and may possibly contain out-of-date information (last published date: 02/01/2012). Provident Experts Answer Your QuestionsMobile banking at Provident is better than ever. There are more features, more ways to access it, and something brand new: e-deposits. Product analyst Amanda Peterson answers a few questions about this improved service. Q. How do e-deposits work? How can I access the service? A. Using the Provident Mobile Banking app on your iPhone® or Android™ smartphone, take a picture of the endorsed check, front and back, and the deposit is made electronically. If you have a scanner and a computer, you can also scan the check and deposit it electronically through Account Manager online banking. Q. I don't have an iPhone or Android-based smartphone. Can I still use mobile banking? A. If you have Internet access on your device, you can access your accounts by going to providentcu.org on your mobile web browser and signing on with your Account Manager online banking credentials. Q. Where do I need to go to download the app to my phone? A. The iPhone app is available through the App Store; the Android app is available through the Android Market. Just search for "Provident Credit Union" on your phone. Q. Does mobile banking offer the Bill Pay feature? A. Yes it does. It's available on all our applications and through the Web browser too. Q. What other transactions can I perform with mobile banking? A. Most of the same transactions as you do with Account Manager: check balances, view recent activity, transfer funds between your accounts, your account and other members' accounts, and your accounts with Provident and other financial institutions. There is also an ATM and Provident branch locator. Q. Do you charge for mobile banking? A. No, Provident does not charge a fee. Depending on your wireless plan, data fees may apply—we suggest checking with your carrier.
