Provident will rebate nationwide ATM surcharges imposed by the other institution, up to $2.50 per transaction when you meet the monthly transaction requirements on an ongoing basis.
100% matching applies to first enrolled account only. Matching funds are based solely on signature transactions (i.e., when the credit option is selected). The Super Reward Checking account is not eligible for matching.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS/DISCLOSURE
1) FIRST $100 BONUS RULES: You must be a new member, 18 or older and reside in California. You are not eligible if you are a current owner or signer on a Provident Credit Union personal or business account or if you have been an owner or signer on a Provident Credit Union personal or business account within the last six months. One New Account Bonus per household/business. To be eligible, you must open one of the following checking accounts: Super Reward Checking, Provident Checking, Simply Free Checking, or College Checking; all other checking accounts are not eligible for the bonus.
You must fund your Checking account within the first 60 days of account opening with a minimum deposit of $25. If you fail to fund your Checking account within the first 60 days you are no longer eligible for the New Account Bonus and your account(s) will be closed.
In order to qualify for the first $100 New Account Bonus your account must be active and in good standing for two consecutive statement cycles following the month that your account is opened.
Your account is deemed active by: (1) performing 10 (ten) debit card transactions per statement cycle (PIN or signature-based, not including ATM transactions), AND (2) performing 1 (one) direct deposit or automatic debit/credit per statement cycle. This can include Bill Pay payments using Provident's online Bill Manager, AND (3) providing a valid email address, AND (4) enrolling in e-Documents, AND (5) enrolling in Provident's online banking service. If your account remains inactive after 90 days from account opening you are no longer eligible for the New Account Bonus. IMPORTANT: All transactions must be posted within the statement cycle which begins on the last business day of the previous month and ends on the second to last business day of the current month.
Your account is in good standing if you: (1) demonstrate responsible account management—such as making regular deposits to bring your account to a positive end of day balance at least once every 30 days (including the payment of all credit union fees and charges); (2) avoid excessive overdrafts suggesting the use of Courtesy Pay as a continuing line of credit; (3) there are no legal orders, levies or liens against your account.
New Account Bonus: We generally pay the first $100 New Account Bonus by crediting your Provident Credit Union Checking account. If Provident funded your savings account at account opening, you will receive the difference between your initial $5.00 Savings account bonus and the stated $100 bonus within 120 days of account opening. We may report the value of the New Account Bonus to the IRS and any applicable taxes are the responsibility of the member.
2) SECOND $250 ROUND UP MATCH BONUS RULES:
In order to qualify for the additional $250 bonus, your checking account must remain open, active and enrolled in both the Round Up Program and e-Documents at the time of your Round Up one-year anniversary. Matching funds are paid annually and deposited into your Round Up Savings account on the anniversary date of enrollment or the following business day. Once enrolled in the Round Up Program, we will match 100% of your eligible Round Up transfers for the first three months on the first enrolled checking account. Thereafter, we will match 5% on this account and all subsequent enrolled accounts up to a maximum of $250 per year. Matching funds funds only apply to the signature based round up transactions and do not include the add-on amounts that you may have added in the program. Super Reward Checking is not eligible for the annual match.
Matching funds will be reported to the IRS as dividends on Form 1099. We may cancel or modify the Round Up service or matching promotions at any time. See Round Up Terms and Conditions
