Solar Loan Tax Credit Expiring Soon

Now Is the Time

Soon, the federal government will begin cutback on its 30% tax credit incentive. The credit steps down in value over the next few years, until it disappears completely for residential customers. The tax credit plays a major part in the return on investment, and the good news is that members have until the end of this year to capitalize on the full 30% credit.

Here's the value of the federal tax credit by year:

  • 2018: 30%
  • 2019: 30%
  • 2020: 26%
  • 2021: 22%
